Ookisa review

Okay, this is kind weird, but, I got this stuff and was not able to find any kind of review on it on the web. So, this is my review.

I was on some website (US weekly?) that had an ad for a shampoo line that promised "breathtaking volume. Mesmerizing shine. And unyielding resilience." for your hair. AND, you can try the products for FREE (or so I thought...so gullible). Anyways, when I got the stuff, it came with an invoice that I did not really look at, because I thought it was "free," except for $2.00 in shipping. I did some more searching on line and read about one woman ordering the products and realizing once her credit card was charged a month later that there was actually a TRIAL period of 30 days.

So, I went back to previously discarded invoice and noticed that yep, it is indeed a 30 day trial. I decided to try the stuff anyway. Hey, at worst I'll just return it and pay shipping. So, after trying the stuff for about 3 weeks now, I feel like I can offer a decent review of the product (unsolicited advertising here).

The trial system comes with three parts: shampoo, conditioner and something called the Nighttime Follicle Renewing Serum (this stuff promised hair regrowth too). The shampoo was very cleansing for my hair, but made it feel kind of dry. My hair takes a lot of abuse from me (coloring, straightening) and so I need something that is really moisturizing. Well, the conditioner makes up in that area for the shampoo. They both smell great, too, and are completely natural. Overall, thumbs up on these two. I did not notice any "hair regrowth" during that time however.

But, the "Nighttime Follicle Renewing Serum" sucked. It totally burned my scalp. You put it on at night and leave it on while you sleep. I tried it a few times, but could not get over the burning, so stopped using it. I ran out of the conditioner way before the shampoo, too. All in all, the shampoo and conditioner are not bad products. I might even purchase them, except for the price. Get this - you can order the complete system for only $89.99! And, they will send you the product each month automatically. No thanks.

My hair dresser recently recommended another product that I really, really, love. Its Pantene Ice Shine, and it's VERY moisturizing for my hair! Love it!
Girly post over.

I just saw this add for OOKISA and immediately googled some reviews. Thanks for this. :)

Thanks for the honesty. I also saw the pop up ad and googled it to find out what it REALLY was about.
Love when you can get great info about something so easily.
Thanks!

I had the same situation. Nothing free here!!! I feel the ad was very deceiving. I have naturally curly hair and do not use blow dryers, straighteners or color my hair but I live in NM so it is a dry climate and my hair suffers (but at least it is not frizzy) being dry all the time.

My first time using the shampoo my hair felt like twine and yes I thought the conditioner was good also. But no matter what product I used to try and get curl back I was a big frizzy dry mess. When I called the company for a return authorization I told her this and she CLAIMS that I was the first person to say that-yaeh, right.

If you are willing to pay a high price for a good hair product OUIDAD for curly hair is great and also WEN is a great. I like them both equally.

Thanks a lot ... I was tempted to give it a try and glad I googled the review. No, nothing's free. Thanks again!

Thanks for the post. Cute ad on Yahoo for this product...don't normally click on the ads but did on this one. This comment is very helpful.

The shampoo is drying and causes hair to be brittle. The conditioner doesn't condition and the follicle treatment burns your scalp. Other than that...it's great.

Thank you. My hair is thinning so I gave the ad a look. But since I have been burned before with "free" stuff on the internet, I googled and found your site. Thank you again for saving me money, and possibly a great deal more problems with my hair. Keep up this site and your honestly, you are doing good work here.

Thanks for the honest review. I just got this ad in my spam e-mail and checked it out. I did see the "30 day trial" but it gave no price to buy. I will pass on this product. My hair is dry enough without adding more dehydration to it and certainly don't like the prospects of a burning scalp.. Many thanks LEW

Oops! I just ordered the "free" stuff and didn't google any comment before the order. Is it possible to cancel the monthly shippment after I got the first one? I'm too naive, I guess!

I am enjoying the products right now...and feel like my hair is softer and smoother... and the serum doesn't bother my scalp. HOWEVER! Am calling tomorrow and shipping the rest back to avoid the $89.00 charge, really stupid for them to charge that much. I thought I was ordering sample sizes for the $5.95 really.

Thank you so much for your review. You saved me $$$. I'm going to try the Pantene product instead.

I just finished the trial package .. and I have curly thin hair .. its been falling and falling since my last hair color .. I used it up and have noticed hair growth and its comming out thick too ..so I love this .. it smells way better than the Rogaine .. and it makes hair stronger so when you brush it you notice less and less hair fall. I know its expensive but for my scalp and overdone hair .. it is actually worth it .. maybe it just depends on the scalp .. or person .. I give this 2 thumbs wayyy up! :) Expensive but you get what you pay for .. really!

I'm trying OOKisa right now and so far its agrees with my hair big time. The serum did not burn my scalp.
the after using the shampoo and conditioner I noticed on the 2nd day that very little hair was in my comb and by the second day with I put the coditioner in and combed through my hair I was able to comb through with ease. Big diffrence in my hair allready. I haven't tried the mousse. But I'm liking with I'm seeing and feeling in my hair. From what I have read here so far it seems that OOkisa may not be for everyone. But if you keep looking I'm sure there is something out there for you. The problems you had with OOkisa are like the problems I had with a product called Smart hair
I tried that and had to send it back it made my scalp break out. OOKISA had not done any of that its actually made my hair better. I don't have to put so much stuff in my hair like a defrizzer and extra
conditioners to moisture my hair. I encourage you to keep looking you will eventually find something that will work for you. I can tell you OOKisa is working for me, and for other people as well. But with like any product there will be bad and good reviews because all of the products don't work for everyone due to things like body chemistry, allergys, enviroment all of which effect your health and how you will react to certain products and other things.

thank GOD for your reviews! I have thin hair and have tried a lot of things, including Great Lengths Hair Extensions for volume. Well, I'm glad I wont be wasting money on this product!

thanks a bunch...!! I was just about to give my credit card info...avoided a scam!!

I've purchased this system, as I feel you have to try to find some good items in the ocean of miscellaneous. I have dry, color treated fine, but dense, hair and wanted to find something healthy. I have used all three items for 3 days and LOVE it! My hair is smoother, softer, and easier to manage. I believe the price is worth it if it's what you want and works for you. Serum did NOT burn at all! So I still think you have to try yourself to see if it works for you. I am very happy with it!!!!!!

I went through the same thing as some of you. I have very dry hair from too much coloring and highlights. I have fine hair to begin with.

I did reserach online then I went to the salon and they suggested Pureology Nanoworks. If you google that, you will find honest reviews about it. It IS expensive, but a little goes a very long way. I bought it on Monday and already my hair feels softer, silkier, smells great, and isn't as frizzy. It is worth it!

The grls at the salon told me that if I don't want to spend all that to use Pureology Hydrate. That is what some of them use. Nanoworks is the best, but Hydrate is a 2nd best.

It is best to buy from a salon so you know you are getting the real deal and not some watered down stuff. If you go to Pureology's website, they will tell you when you eneter your zipcode where to buy the stuff. They don't sell their products on their site.

It will make a difference. When you overprocess your hair, it damages it. Products will help, but time is what makes the difference. I will see how my hair is in a month.

a Trick: I have done this several times now. I wash my hair....squeeze the water out of my hair....work the conditioner through my hair....then put on a shower cap on. THis is like a deep conditioning treatment. I leave it on for an hour and then hop back in the shower and rinse it out.

Remember...a little goes a long way! Don't use too much.

For leave in conditioners....I use Redkin Antisnap and Redkin Glide....you may or may not need these two things. I use them because my hair is in need of repair. I haven't tried Pureology's leave in products.

I hope this helps....
Good luck!

My Review is
DON"T BUY TRIALS PRODUCTS!

Don't BELIEVE trial advertising
Don't BUY trial ANYTHING online!
If you are even THINKING of it please read this post!

I just saw this ad and I immediately googled it as well, I've suffered with thyroid disease for about 10 years now. Hair loss and hair breakage are a unpleasant symptom of it. It's a very big deal when you are loosing your hair and at times I have felt hopeless that I will never get it back. I am in the beauty industry and I am constantly being "sized up" so to speak, as an example I suppose, of my credibility. This makes me feel even more self-conscious and desperate for a solution.

I am so happy to see all of your reviews. I think these companies totally exploit those who are desperately looking for real solutions. Even though I have had a very bad experience with this sort of scam I still felt desperate enough to think about trying it.

I had a suspicion this was a "back door" selling tactic as I have been burned before by a similar "clinical trial." Once I gave them my debit card number they kept on billing me for shipments even after I had made attempts to cancel. I literally had to practically harass them to stop charging it. They lied to me about having a manager present, gave be fake numbers to call for refunds they hung up on me over and over and I just kept calling, at least 40 times in a row until they finally relented. They were trying to give me the impression that they were a very big corporation but each time I called I got one of only three people. I called a few different numbers that I found online and I still ended up getting touch with one of these same three people. Once they finally agreed to not only cancel but to refund my account I also demanded they send me an email confirmation of the cancelation. That was practically a federal affair. I eventually closed my checking account as an extra precaution.

DON"T BUY TRIALS PRODUCTS!
EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER...!!!!!

seems like people are doing the same thing as me, searching review on this product through google. This is a great review, thanks for such a honesty and helpful mind.

Have to say, I love the trolls from Ookisa coming here and defending the product --with practically the same exact language.

Thanks so much for this review. I was thinking about trying it myself--guess I'll stick w/ the Rogaine. Sigh.

I would never buy anything online (other than something from Amazon or ebay, of course) without Googling the reviews first. You did a lot of women a great service here.

My ex is very gullible that way. He bought all kinds of overpriced, basically worthless products that were charged to his credit card every month. When it got out of hand, he'd come to me and ask me to "fix it." Grrrr. Talk to your bank and dispute the charges. Ask if they will stop the scammers from charging your card, and if not, close that account. It's a pain, but necessary.

Then notify the Attorney General. They shut these kinds of things down if enough people turn them in, and sometimes you get your money back.

You have to be so careful these days. I once bought flowers online from 1-800-FLOWERS, and they sell your credit card number to a second company that charges about...I can't remember exactly because it's been a while...about $4 to $6...a month to your card! On my bank statement, it looked like a convenience store purchase and was a small amount, so I didn't pay much attention. It went on for over a year before I figured it out. I notified my bank and the Attorney General. The company had to refund all my money.

It may only be $5 here and there to you--or worse, like the $90 these people are scamming you for--but for them, it adds up to millions. You are basically financing their sports cars, yachts, and party time with your hard-earned paycheck. Turn them in!

I have to say that I LOVE this product. My hair is better than it's been for years. At over 50 hair starts thinning and looking nasty so I was tickled pink to find OOkisa. However, I just can't afford it, it's WAY too much money and I didn't like how I had to phone to get them to take the charges off my credit card. My solution was to hit ebay and you will find it there. I haven't noticed the night serum doing much, but the conditioner is the bomb ;-) So the long and the short - product excellent, price terrible.

This sounds just like the Dazzle White scam and other teeth whitening scams that were going around. I sure hope people have learned to look for online reviews so they aren't pulled into fraud "free trial" and monthly payments, etc. A nightmare to get rid of too. Associated retailers will start billing you too and never with any forewarning or product even. Thank you so much, LOVE ELF, for taking the time to do the review and inform others. You're great!

I have used OOkisa and I swear by it, I have curly hair and every shampoo leaves it dull and dry, when I used this product is was amazing and I dont say that about too many products, I did though try WEN and it was horrible at least for my hair, my daughter loved it but for me it left my curly hair frizzy and uncontrollable for weeks. I guess it just depends on the hair type you have...
